Permission Levels Overview
- Flight School Admin
- Description: This role is designed for individuals responsible for managing the flight school’s operations and system configurations.
- Key Abilities:
- Manage user accounts, including assigning roles (Admin, Instructor, Student).
- Access and configure organization-wide settings.
- Monitor all user activity and performance metrics.
- Handle billing, payments, and integrations with third-party tools.
- Lead Instructor
- Description: Lead Instructors are responsible for managing lesson assignments and student progress for all students.
- Key Abilities:
- View and edit assigned lessons for all students.
- Track all student's progress.
- Cannot access administrative settings, billing, or manage other instructors' accounts.
- Instructor
- Description: Instructors are responsible for managing lesson assignments and student progress.
- Key Abilities:
- View and edit assigned lessons.
- Track only My Students.
- Cannot access administrative settings, billing, or manage other instructors' accounts.
- Student
- Description: This role is for students and allows access to personal training-related resources.
- Key Abilities:
- View assigned lessons.
- Complete and view lessons and courses.
- Track progress in the course.
Assigning Permission Levels
- Log in as a Flight School Admin:
- Only Flight School Admins can assign or change permission levels.
- Go to Manage Users:
- Access the Dashboard and select Manage Users.
- Select a User:
- To assign permissions to an existing user, click Edit to the Left of their name.
- Choose the Role:
- Select Flight School Admin, Instructor, or Student from the Roles menu.
- Save Changes:
- Confirm by clicking Save to apply the new role.
Best Practices for Managing Permissions
- Restrict Admin Access: Limit Flight School Admin roles to trusted personnel with operational responsibility.
- Ensure Role Clarity: Assign roles based on the specific tasks and responsibilities of each user.
- Regularly Review Permissions: Periodically audit user roles to ensure alignment with their current responsibilities.
